VERMONT OPEN MIC NEWS FROM AUGUST 16th 2010

REMEMBER THERE IS VERMONT OPEN MIC AUGUST 23rd

WE ARE PRIVELEGED TO WELCOME AS OUR GUEST HOST ON MONDAY THE 23RD THE INCOMPARABLE CABARET CHANTEUSE

LORI DONATO !

We had a great weekend. Ron played for Jai Rodriguez in Palm Springs for Les Michaels Cabaret series. A full house with a 150 people there. So great that all of the hard work Les is doing out there is paying off by the number of people coming to his shows.

A missed tidbit from last week. Thank you to Michael Feinstein for stopping by. He could not stay long as he had guests with him and they were on to other places.

Please let us know if you have a show coming up so we can post it in the Shows and Performers Notes section.

THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR PERFORMERS AND GUESTS WHO CAME MONDAY NIGHT.

RON AND BRYAN

_____________________________________________________________

1. Karen Christie- Opened our evening with a number that brought thunderous applause from the audience. “You’re Gonna Hear From Me.

2. Dr. Mercury- “In The Way”.

3. Renee Faia- Accompanying her self on guitar gave us. “Easy To Love”.

4. Greg Sarfaty- also playing guitar for himself. “Galway Girl”.

5. Nick Papadakis- One of our performers who drives up from the south bay area, and who we do not get to see often enough. “ I Got It Bad And That Ain’t Good”.

6. Judson and Mary- Judson on guitar with Mary on Violin. I think this is the first Violin player we have had at open mic. “ Miss Mary”.

7. Larry Leigh-

8. Bill Hemmer- who came out of retirement from open mic singing was with us. Listen if Streisand and Cher can make a return from retirement , so can Bill. We were so glad he did. He had some friends with him from San Diego and they wanted to hear him sing plus more singing from other performers. So they came to our open Mic. Thanks Bill. “Come Rain Or Come Shine”.

9. Rich Jacques- “We Got It All”.

10. Karen Christie- We had promised her the week before she could do 2 songs because of her birthday. Well we never made it. So this week we let her have her second promised song. “The Music That Makes Me Dance”.

11. Chris Curio-Who is a newcomer with us was up next. A handsome young man with a truly great voice.

12. Wagner- was in a mood for some jam. “Lady Marmalade”.

13. Scott Free- Who was back for his second time with us. Did an Irish song with his own guitar accompaniment.

14. James Delisco- A recent LA transplant from Las Vegas was another of our guitar players for the evening. James really looked the part of a Vegas singer. In red velour leopard pants and a black top.

15. Jessica Cymerman- Was also with us last week for the first time. Glad she came back. “ Cock Eyed Optimist”.

16. Nora Davis- The songbird from New York did such a great number on her song. “ Angel Eyes”.

17. Alivia Bettinzoli- Several people commented that she looked very much alike another well known singer. Now if I could only remember who that was. “ Somewhere That’s Green”.

18. Lisa Herbert- Who has hosted open mic for us before gave us her rendition of. “The Nearness Of You”.

19. Andrew Appel-

20. Melissa Thatcher- Who everyone keeps asking when she is going to do another Cabaret show. “Every Time We Say Goodbye”.

21. Ginger Lowcher- “They All Laughed”.

22. Andy Prescott- What can you say about Andy except the audience really loves him. “Happy Together”.

23. Ojai Fin- “It’s Up To You”.

24. Jane Mannon- “Goodbye Cheri”.

25. Larry Davis- “Like A Lover”

26. Lois Bowers- “It Had To Be You”.

27. Ambryelle and Ant-

One guitar and one vocalist who are touring the country.

WE TRULY APPRECIATE ALL OF YOU SUPPORTING OUR OPEN MIC.

THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's Spring 1969, and hairdresser Mike's opening day gets off to an unexpected start when a beautiful but dour young Republican, Candy, stumbles in looking for anything but a change of hairdo. But change it he does, and the subsequent years of loyal trips back to Mike's chair prove that a…See More
