VERMONT OPEN MIC NEWS FROM AUGUST 9TH 2010

REMEMBER THERE IS VERMONT OPEN MIC AUGUST 16TH

WHAT A PARTY !!!

Our open mic nights just keep getting better all the time. Between our performers and audience it was standing room only. We ended up with people sitting on the floor in front of the stage. Pictures will be posted to the Facebook page. It was a very international group, with performers from Sweden, Poland

and Greece.

ALSO A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO OUR WONDERFUL HOST LLOYD COLEMAN

Please let us know if you have a show coming up so we can post it in the Shows and Performers Notes section.

THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR PERFORMERS AND GUESTS WHO CAME MONDAY NIGHT.

RON AND BRYAN

_____________________________________________________________

1. Karen Christie- After taking the stage and having a chorus of Happy Birthday sung to her by the crowd. Karen gave us a medley of. “Get Here/Calling You” .

2. Greg Glienna- Back in Ca. after going back and forth to Ill. for work.

Wanted a. “I Want A Paper Doll That I Can Call My Own”.

3. Kyle Hollingsworth- Who also has been traveling was with us along with her sister. Kyle’s song was very appropriate. “Sister”.

4. Estella Ramirez- A newcomer with us and a student of Alise Richel. Not sure if this title is correct. “Of Falling In Love”.

5. Jennifer Dalton- Also a newcomer did a number with a title we all like to avoid. “Misery”.

6. Alisel Richel- Who is a voice teacher and a wonderful Soprano gave us a number that is so true to us all. “Here’s To Life”.

7. Jane Mannon- “Because You’re Mine”.

8. Jeanine Del Carlo- With the big white boom box did some more of her great original songs.

9. Katherine Semple- Played the piano for Jeanine to sing another number.

10. John Kluge- Who comes to us all the way from Sweden. Had the room mesmerized with his voice and his song choice. “You Raise Me Up’.

11. Kqtqrzyna- Now I did not get to ask her if it should be an o instead of q in her name. She is from Poland and this was her first time playing the piano in front of an american audience. A very talented young lady and thank you for honoring us with your american debut.

12. Scott Free- Brought along his guitar to play while singing for us. “Still”.

13. Mitch Ellis- A friend of ours who we have not seen in too long. Surprised us by being with us on Monday night. He told us that a certain woman was around again. “Lulu’s Back In Town”.

14. Wagner- Guess he wanted to commute to enjoy the weekends. “Weekend In New England”.

15. Heather Olt- Who had just booked her first Cabaret show at The M-Bar. Which our very own Ron Snyder is musical director for. She had a medley that is going to be in her show. “Someone To Watch Over Me/ Maybe This Time.”

16. Todd Sherry- Seems that he is always thirsty for a special cocktail. “Pour Me A Man”.

17. Candi Milo- A surprise friend of our host Lloyd Coleman stopped in. You have heard her voice in many commercials etc. She said she had not sung in 12 years. Well the voice we all heard was something that should not be kept quite for another 12 years. She was really wonderful with “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”.

18. Nora Davis- Our young friend brought along a whole entourage. She has such a wonderful stage presence. Along with a voice that makes you want to listen to her all night long. Nora brought along her very sweet uncle to play for her. “ Hair Blue”.

19. Jessica Cymerman- gave us an original of her own.

20. Jared Swanson- Accompanied himself on the piano with an original also.

21. Eric Jerboe- who’s song title was missed.

22. Marikah Cunningham-

23. Ginger Lowcher-

24. James Mooney- Missing from our open mic for way to long was back. His choice was something again we all could agree on. “That’s Life”.

25. Toby Canlas-

26. Jane Kinsey- She always can make everyone smile with her antics and songs. “Screwloose”.

27. Andy Prescott- Dressed all in black made me think he was going to do a Johnny Cash number. I was wrong Andy had the room smiling and laughing. Not because of his song, but just from his great presentation of it. “Honey Suckle Rose”.

28. Yvette Ayers- Looking great in a multicolored dress. Had a song that many of us understand. “If You’re Going Thru Hell”.

29. David Pascucci- Another person who we have not seen or heard enough of lately. “Crying”.

30. George Kontaxis- Our singer from Greece. “If You Go Away”.

31. Melissa Thatcher- Her song had an interesting title. ‘Some Other Time”.

32. Lloyd Coleman- Our host for the evening closed us out with. “ I left My Heart In San Francisco”.

My apologies to Eric Jerboe, Marikah Cunningham, Toby Canlas and Ginger Lowcher for not having gotten the titles to the songs they performed.

WE TRULY APPRECIATE ALL OF YOU SUPPORTING OUR OPEN MIC.

THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May 25, 2012 at 8pm to July 1, 2012 at 2pm
Set a friendship before you tease it! Katselas Theatre Company brings you multi-award-winner Tony Abatemarco's BEAUTIFIED - a riotous new romp through four decades in a Massachusetts beauty parlor. It's Spring 1969, and hairdresser Mike's opening day gets off to an unexpected start when a beautiful but dour young Republican, Candy, stumbles in looking for anything but a change of hairdo. But change it he does, and the subsequent years of loyal trips back to Mike's chair prove that a…See More
