Celebrating Worldwide Adventures in Travel and Entertainment!

One of the delights of spring in Hollywood is the Paley Festival of Television, which honors various television shows. The festival gathers cast and crew from the shows to talk about how the series came to be, what goes on behind the scenes, storyline choices, things to expect in upcoming episodes and much more.

Even better, audience members get to meet the stars of the shows and also ask questions of them. Sometimes the Paley Festival eveninigs are the first time the cast gets to interact with fans of the show en mass, especially for first year series. Many an actor has been heard saying he/she never realized how much the fans loved the show until coming to the Paley Festival.

PaleyFest 09 runs April 10 to April 24.

All screenings take place at the Cinerama Dome at Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood with the exception of the closing night which is held at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills.

A Dozen "Ugly" Things You Didn't Know About "Ugly Betty"

The cast of ABC’s hit comedic soap Ugly Betty were honored at a panel discussion on March 12 (2007) at the Museum of Television and Radio’s annual William S. Paley Television Festival. Here are some things they revealed: 1. Producers had America Ferrera in mind for the title part from the start, impressed with her performance in the 2002 flick Real Women Have Curves... (see the story for more!)

Brothers & Sisters Family Reunion
It was a family reunion as the cast of ABC’s hit show Brothers & Sisters gathered for a panel discussion honoring the family drama on March 5 (2007). It was part of the Museum of Television and Radio’s annual William S. Paley Television Festival honoring the best of TV shows. The entire cast was present except for Rachel Griffiths (who plays oldest sister, Sarah) who was ill and Ron Rifkin (who plays Uncle Saul) who was in New York. Joining them were show creator Jon Robin Baitz and show-runner Greg Berlanti. The discussion offered lots of fun tidbits and behind-the-scenes trivia.

What's Up, Chuck?
The spy thriller comedy Chuck was honored on March 18 (2008) as part of the 25th annual Paley Fest hosted by the Paley Center for Media (formerly known as the Museum of TV and Radio). Cast and creators from the NBC freshman series showed up and revealed lots of fascinating tidbits about the series.
