ANGEL VIEW CRIPPLED CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION HONORS RUTA LEE AND OFFERS FAB LIVE AUCTION ITEMS

WHAT:  Angel View’s 58^th Annual Luncheon to honor entertainer Ruta Lee.  The event will be jammed pack with silent auction, raffles, vendors, Hollywood types, outstanding entertainment, good food, and a live auction featuring three incredible trip packages.

Collectible items will be available from the Gerald Ford estate.  Count on lots of giggles and laughter and celebrity surprises this special day.

ENTERTAINMENT:  Entrance music by pianist Bill Marx; prelude entertainment by Desert Youth Ballet under the direction of Valerie Mahaber with Angel View resident Maria Quintero; and a performance by entertainer Ruta Lee with her accompanist Rush Robinson.   Expect a fun lineup of surprise celebrity guests.

One of the most anticipated social events in the Coachella Valley takes place Monday, February 20, 2012 on President’s Day at the Doral Desert Princess Resort located on the corner of Vista Chino and Landau.  The Angel View Crippled Children’s Foundation will pay tribute to Ruta Lee, at their Angel of the Year 2012 Annual Luncheon.  Ruta Lee has been a long time champion of Angel View and its residents, as well as its resale stores where she has found many of her treasures.

Chairing the event is Dr. Martin Russell.  The late Jackie Lee Houston, who has served as the Honorary Chair for more than a dozen years, will retain her title in memoriam.  Master of Ceremonies is Mel Haber, longtime and beloved President of the Board of Angel View. 

Celebrity hostess for the day is Mary Ann Mobley. After serving her reign as Miss America 1959, Mobley embarked on what has been a long career in both film and television. She has been active in many charitable causes and was awarded the Outstanding Young Woman of the Year Award in 1966 by Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson. 

Rona Barrett is scheduled to give the tribute speech.  Rona is one of the best known pioneers and innovators in entertainment reporting and publishing.

Barbara Sinatra, Angel View’s 2011 Angel of the Year will pass the torch to Ruta Lee in the traditional Angel View Annual Luncheon Awards segment.
